   We purchased the “Critter Spray” to paint 42 spindles needed for a stair area remodeling. It performed beautifully and by careful application of paint produced an impressive result. We are very pleased and would recommend the paint sprayer to anyone with a small job to do. My husband built a large rectangle of wood just the size to fit the spindles in once both ends had been drilled with a tiny deepish hole and small nails hammered in–so that they could be rolled freely as we painted. I wish the manufacturer supplied several of the cork rings that seal the cap on the initial purchase, but purchase of a repair kit supplies several for later use. A great product and if the paint jar is broken it can be replaced with a Mason canning jar available most anywhere.

   Everything was there and it matches the critter sprayer well. I just ordered it so I knew I had one “just in case”. It’s one of those things that you hope you never need to use.I really only needed the ring. Wish Amazon carried just the 5 pack of rings, but this was my only option.

   After some use (read practice) it becomes easier to be proficient in it’s operation and paint spraying abilities. Most of the videos I’ve watched don’t really help. For example, I’ve found that for larger projects you need to boost the air pressure (I went to the max on my pancake compressor, 90 psi) for larger spray patterns and better coverage. 30 – 45 psi (IMHO) only works for very light material (read stains and such). For latex based paint, you want to add your floetrol and boost pressures. I generally have to clean the sprayer whilst painting for larger objects. Pay attention to clean up and getting all the paint out of the spray tube. You may need to also use braided copper wire or such to clean the nozzle. Otherwise, it’s a very good product and the results are as good as you are.

   I misplace the little parts usually while cleaning, especially the nozzle and spring and the kit come with replacements. Wish they would go back to SS suction tube rather than aluminum.

   Ok, I’ve been a loyal Critter customer for 16+ years, great for broad primer coats, dead simple, love the standard jar use. HOWEVER!!!: This repair kit is a SHAM! I killed my siphon tip, so that’s all I really needed, but I went ahead and changed everything out in my ancient Critter sprayer. It’s maybe $00.30 in parts total. A tube, a gasket (crappy one), a spring, the siphon tip, and a nut. The aforementioned included nut that isn’t part of my original sprayer, and the tube is too short (several mm shorter than the original, leaving lots of paint at the bottom)- and no, the added nut to the bottom doesn’t extend the tube down much compared to the original fitment.The components are all imported, to which I can purchase 2 complete imported siphon sprayers for the price of this repair kit.I try to support small companies, but the enormous markup on “repair parts”, which aren’t even good quality makes me want to kick my Critter to the curb.

   I’ve been using the Critter Paint Sprayer for about a year. Due strictly to my own negligence, the nozzle was clogged and I tried clearing it with the air gun. Instead I launched it into outer space (because I really needed to be dumb twice). Thankfully the maintenance kit is available since the spring and gasket, though not in space with the nozzle, were getting a little worn out as well.

   This is a perfect fit for the Critter spray gun. Good to have a couple on hand — just in case you need it.
