I had always needed, (wanted one more like it), an orbital sander since they are so much more efficient than in-line electrical sanders. I had a project to finish the wooden sides on a hot tub, A BIG hot tub which would require much sanding. This sander was just perfect for the job and I’m so glad I now have it for other projects that WILL come my way. It would also do very well on automotive sanding if you need to use a body filler or sand old paint off. One thing I must caution you about. Make sure the air compressor you will use puts out the recommended constant operating CFM to run this sander. If you don’t and you are sanding for more than 5 minutes constantly, you will have to wait for the compressor to catch up. Not the sander’s fault, it states what it needs for an air supply and it’s up to you to provide that or the sander will run slower and slower until you have to stop and let the compressor catch up.UPDATE 12/08/2013. THE SPECS ON THIS SANDER STATE AIR REQUIREMENT OF 8CFM, BUT THAT IS NOT UNDER A CONSTANT LOAD THAT A SANDER REQUIRES. WITH A CALL TO INGERSOLL RAND AND A LITTLE DIGGING, I FOUND OUT THAT THIS SANDER, ALTHOUGH IT WORKS GREAT, DOES NOT OPERATE OPTIMALLY UNDER CONSTANT SANDING. IF YOU SAND FOR HOURS ON END, THIS SANDER REQUIRES A CONSTANT 15.5CFM @ 90PSI. THAT’S A LOT OF AIR. JUST BE ADVISED.

Very good da I have been using it daily in a body shop environment for a few weeks sanding and buffing cars. I Accually like it better than my friends 300 dollar mac da because it doesn’t vibrate as much as the mac at high speeds but it does feel a bit bigger so very good if you have big hands

It’s a great sander and reasonably priced

I keep it turned down to about 3/4 and my small air compressor maintains good psi all day long. This is much more efficient and easier to hold to shape Bondo than a traditional sander.

Works perfect, no complaints

This may or may not be an excellent random orbital sander. I would not know because it does not take a quarter inch intake attachment. it appears to be 3/8 but that doesn’t fit either. I have no idea To order from the company is another week or so I am going to return this and get a 3M
