There is no other air-compressor like this on the market. I searched for days, but this compact unit is the only one of it’s kind. All other air-compressors are either too tiny for anything other than slowly inflating car tires, or they have an exposed tank with the motor/pump assembly bolted to it. This is THE only unit that is both all together in a single housing, and compact AND LIGHT enough for carry-around use.Similarly, it’s performance specifications are outstanding, particularly so when considering it’s size. It outperforms both top PSI and SCFM of much larger units. To get near this performance you have to get one with double the tank-size, double the weight, and louder than this unit. I am not saying this unit is quiet, it isn’t, but considering it’s competition, well, it has none. It is UNIQUE. The unit’s specifications speak for themselves. The unit is compact, and powerful, and despite all the guidance elsewhere CAN BE WALL MOUNTED. That’s what I did with mine. Is it “designed” to be mounted on the wall? Not exactly, but a single 2.5″ screw-in hook supports the unit via it’s handle. The handle is so far towards the rear of the unit, that hanging it on the short hook was no issue. (Picture attached. It is not resting on the device below it, a 20 gallon air-compressor. It is “mounted to the wall” by hanging on a plastic-coated screw-in hook below a wall-mounted Shop-Vac.)The included accessories are almost comical in their pointlessness. I say “almost.” I guess someone may have a use for them. The unit comes with a nice, professional car-tire inflator adaptor (standard Schrader type), and some plastic gizmos meant to inflate beach-balls, mattresses, balloon, stuff like that. You can only use one of those at a time, since the hose is male threaded, and the two attachments are both females, you’d use one, or the other, unscrewing them, re-teflon-taping them, and then screwing them back on to change the tool you wanted to use. It’s nice marketing to say “accessories included,” but in practice the notion is impractical I used none of the accessories. I took the female quick-connect off my old compressor, attached it to the included flexible black hose (which I use despite others’ contention that it’s junk, and I have plenty of professional grade hoses, but I like this quick little flexible hose that recoils back to a compact size PERFECT to accompany this compact compressor), and all my air-tools snap right on for use. Anybody that buys an air-compressor that uses it more than once a year should invest the small dollar-amount to get these quick connects. I can’t imagine not having them.I was looking for something to replace my Husky unit which had a similar form-factor. They no longer make such a device, and as it turns out, it seems only Porter-Cable does.As an added bonus, this unit is manufactured in Taiwan, and while some may consider the two countries similar, they are quite dissimilar. Taiwanese products are considered superior by most professionals, and a perusal of a machine-tool catalog bears this out as you’ll pay a premium for large metal-cutting mills if the body is made in China, but the “head” is made in Taiwan.

My dually van’s six tires run at about 60 psi; the front a little less, the four rear a little more. Max pressure is 80psi. A little 12v pump, even the ones that cost several hundred dollars, simply don’t get the job done.I have 110v in the van and do not like the idea of opening the hood and reaching in to make a connection. You know what Murphy’s Law says and it goes double in emergency situations so I started looking for AC/DC units. Same problem as the DC only units: Not enough CF/M to do the job anytime in my lifetime much less without overheating first. I have on of these units for my truck and car. Fine for them staying in the 30’s psi but, I think I busted it trying for 58 psi.So I started looking for AC only portable units – HARD TO FIND. I saw one on a van builder’s video posted three years ago and reached out. He bought it at Sears. Great, try finding a Sears store! So my search continued.I visited the big box stores to look, feel, lift, gauge size and weight of tanked compressors; hot dog and pancake styles. ALL were too heavy and too large for the space I want to dedicate to one in the garage of my van. Then after days of looking, I came across the PORTER-CABLE 1.5 gallon, oil free, air compressor kit. Pancake or hot dog, I don’t know, its fully shrouded. It reminds me of a bowling ball bag. Description says it weighs 20lbs. Its very easy to carry. Its a kit so it came with a coiled hose and some attachments. I use a couple of them, they’re not why I bought the unit. I bought a 6 foot rubber house, a couple of quick connector kits, and a tire inflator gun with an analog gauge. Now that’s a kit!So I bought the PORTER-CABLE 1.5 gallon, oil free, air compressor because I installed steel valve stems on my van so I could reach the inner rear tires and add a valve cap style TPMS system. The tire shop that performed the valves install didn’t seat the two front tires correctly (it is difficult) and I’m loosing air at the base in the right, then the left, front tires. I’ll get that fixed but in the meantime, and always actually, I needed an air compressor capable of actually filling my tires – and quickly.Because of my valve stem problem, I’ve used the Porter-Cable compressor numerous times since purchase. While going to the lake and back, as much as 3 times a day (getting the valves re-seated this week). From my personal experience my Porter Cable compressor will take a tire with 18 lbs of air in it, basically flat, to 58 psi in about minute. With the attachments I have, it also fills my river tubes and inflatable kayak but again, that’s not why I bought the compressor.I bought the portable, PORTER-CABLE 1.5 gallon, oil free, air compressor kit to inflate my high pressure RV tires fast, using 110v power and that’s exactly what it does. Everything else, is gravy. Yes it’s loud, but its quick and I’d rather have loud and do the job fast, than quiet and take for ever – or not at all.

Great compressor for the price. I have used it fairly often and really like this one. I measure the noise at about 78 decibels up against the casing and 75 dB at 5′. Not that bad for an inexpensive unit at this price point. It is very light and easy to move. I use it to run both 16 and 18 gauge nailers and as compressed air for various projects. You can’t run multiple nail guns off of it, or use it for high air demand tools, but this compressor is a great home owner tool that is light and easy to move from one project to another. For those of us who store everything in the basement and most projects involve carting tools up and down a flight of stairs, tools like this are great.

The air tanks fill quickly. It is light weight and portable. I have used this air compressor for pressures between 8psi and 95psi. Highly recommended.

I have a large 5th wheel with G rated tires. These tires require 110 psi. This little compressor handles that job with no problems. I looked tru the reviews before I bought it but didnt find much with that kind of info. Im glad I bought it.
