T. K. Sea –
The combination of the cheapest cardboard box ever, weak glue, and terrible packaging from Amazon (you ship a dense brick of 5000 nails in a bubble-wrap pouch? Seriously?) made for a heck of a mess. When I got these, the inside of the mailer was a brad nail explosion. Strips and parts of nail strips everywhere. Many of the 100-nail strips were broken into little useless segments (I’m not talking “broken in half” here, I’m talking a hundred(s) of now-mini strips of fewer than 10 brads eacg. If you’ve done ever used a nailer or brad nailer you know little broken strips are a recipe for slow work at best, and jams and misfires at worst. What a joke. I’d be tempted to send them back but I need them for a project pretty much yesterday. So all the useless bits go into the trash. I figure that cost me 1000 of the 5000 nails. Yeah they were a tiny bit cheaper tan Porter Cable or DeWalt, and the package has some nice green color on it that makes me feel like I’m a Festool owner, but that the end of the positives. When you have to toss a fifth of them because they’re too broken to use in your gun, and then have to spend 20 minutes taping up the box, just so you can use the remainder of nails without them spilling all over your shop, well….it’s pretty easy to see that I made a bad choice.I’m clearly of the opinion that these things suck, and I haven’t even fired one yet. I guess if I make it through the remaining nails (eg, nails I didn’t throw away) without a single jam or without any more segments breaking up, I’ll be glad to come back and bump this review up a single star. But the odds of this are pretty darn low. If Meite can’t manufacture a cardboard box I don’t think they’re going to have much luck with something more complicated – like a nail.Save yourself the hassle and get something less terrible.
